International Media Correspondents

For issuing or renewing a Press Card, in accordance with the relevant legislation, international media correspondents must practice the journalistic profession and be mainly and regularly employed by an international media organisation, which operates or is published outside Cyprus.

Applicants must fill out the web form below and submit/upload the following required documents:

• A valid identity card or passport.
• An original dated letter from their employer/media organisation, confirming their continuous employment as a correspondent in Cyprus with the said organisation. The letter must include the journalist’s name in English and their identity card or passport number
• A recent portrait photo in jpeg format, resolution 200 ppi.

Applicants or authorised persons are kindly requested to collect their press card from the Press and Information Office after scheduling an appointment via the email address: localpress@pio.moi.gov.cy, providing the original confirmation of employment letter signed by the employer.

A period of at least two weeks is required for the issuance of a press card, from the date of the application’s submission.

The press card is valid for one year from the date of issue and there are no applicable fees. In case of loss of the press card, the cost of reissuance amounts to 13 euro.
