The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the new monthly electronic publication “Intra-Extra EU Trade Statistics (Summarised Data)” for October 2019.

The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:

(a)                  Total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) in January-October 2019 amounted to €6.866,3 mn as compared to €7.367,2 mn in January-October 2018. Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States) in January-October 2019 were €2.642,6 mn compared to €3.933,0 mn in January-October 2018. The trade deficit was €4.223,7 mn in January-October 2019 compared to €3.434,2 mn in the corresponding period of 2018.

Total imports in January-October 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €883,6 mn as compared to €1.141,4 mn in January-October 2018. Total exports in January-October 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €815,6 mn as compared to €1.400,8 mn in January-October 2018. 

(b)                  During October 2019 total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) valued at €696,2 mn as compared to €765,3 mn in October 2018.

(c)                  Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States), including stores and provisions, in October 2019 amounted to €242,5 mn as compared to €337,8 mn in October 2018. Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions in October 2019 were €112,6 mn as compared to €122,8 mn in October 2018 whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, in October 2019 were €129,9 mn as compared to €215,0 mn in October 2018. Total domestic exports of industrial products in October 2019 were €106,5 mn compared to €115,8 mn in October 2018. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in October 2019 were €4,5 mn compared to €4,3 mn in October 2018.
