The Minister of Foreign Affairs travels to London

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, travels tonight, 16 April 2018, to London, to accompany the President of the Republic at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

During his stay in London, Minister Christodoulides will, among others, chair a meeting of the CMAG (Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group) to be held on 17 April.

In the afternoon of the 17th April the Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate in a closed meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Cyprus, during which he will brief the members of the Group on the latest developments on the Cyprus problem. Later in the evening Minister Christodoulides will take part in an event entitled “A celebration of Cypriot and Jewish Communities in the Commonwealth”, co-organised by the National Federation of Cyprus in the UK and the Board of Deputies of British Jews.

On Wednesday, 18 April 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate in the Pre-CHOGM Meeting, while in the evening he will attend a welcome dinner organized by the British Foreign Secretary, Mr. Boris Johnson.

In the margins of the CHOGM, Minister Christodoulides will have separate meetings on the 18, 19, and 20 April with Mr. David Davis, Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, Sir Alan Duncan, Minister of State for Europe and the Americas, as well as his counterparts from Kenya, Singapore and South Africa.

On the 19th April, Minister Christodoulides will attend the inaugural session of the CHOGM, and later on, the Executive Session I, in his capacity as Chair of CMAG, where he will present to the Heads of Government a report on the work of CMAG for 2015-2018.

On the 20th April Minister Christodoulides will participate in a round table discussion of Foreign Ministers with Commonwealth intergovernmental organizations, accredited organizations and civil society.
