The Ministry of Finance is glad to note the data that have been published today by the Cyprus Statistical Service, which indicate a downward trend in unemployment in Cyprus.

Specifically, according to the available data, the number of registered unemployed decreased to 19.740 persons in comparison to 19.978 in the previous month. In comparison with February 2019, a decrease of 4.131 persons or 13,9% was recorded.

These data confirm the continuous efforts made by the Government to drastically reduce unemployment, which is expected to decrease further, to 6% in 2020. The goal of a further improvement of the standard of living of the citizens remains high on the agenda of the Government.
