The European Union’s High Representative and Vice President of the European Commission, Mr. Josep Borrell Fontelles, is visiting Cyprus on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June 2020.

During his visit, the High Representative will meet with Defense Minister Savvas Angelidis in the morning of 26 June, to discuss aspects of the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, with particular emphasis on Turkey’s ongoing provocations and destabilizing actions, as well as Cyprus’ role in the EU’s operations and missions.

Minister Angelidis and HR/VP Borrell, accompanied by the Chief of the National Guard, will board a National Guard helicopter to observe the situation in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus. A working lunch will follow
