The President of the Republic, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, participated in the afternoon, today, in Sofia, in the European People's Party (EPP) Meeting, which is taking place on the sidelines of the European Union-Western Balkans Summit Meeting.

In his remarks after the conclusion of the EPP Meeting, the President of the Republic said that "the Meeting of the European People's Party concentrated mainly on a proclamation which concerns of course the Western Balkans, the prospects, the actions that must be taken, so that the Western Balkans, all those (partners) who at least meet the prerequisites, can be included among the candidate states and a dialogue can commence.

In the course of the meeting I had the opportunity to meet with the President of the European Parliament Mr Antonio Tajani and with a number of Prime Ministers whom I briefed on the situation that currently exists in Cyprus."
