The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades, received today, at the Presidential Palace, the Regional Director of TOTAL Mr Stephane Michel.

In his remarks to reporters Mr Michel said, among other things, that at the meeting with the President of the Republic the exploration program was discussed, adding that TOTAL is involved in some of the blocks in the EEZ of the Republic of Cyprus.

He added that “we applied as well to enter block 8 owned by ENI and wanted to come to support that demand which is currently examined by the Minister.”

Asked when will they proceed with an appraisal drill in “Kalypso” target, he said “that is part of the discussion we have but there is a lot of technical work to be done before that can be done.”

He added that the first drill delivered positive results, pointing out that the appraisal drill will be done in the future.
