Sinopharm vaccine (BBIBP COVID-19) in the category of vaccines accepted by the Republic of Cyprus

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that, following yesterday’s decision of the Council of Ministers, as of Friday, 21 May 2021, in addition to the already reported accepted vaccination certificates, the vaccination certificate of a holder who has been vaccinated with the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine (BBIBP COVID-19), will also be accepted.

Specifically, all persons, regardless of nationality, who have been vaccinated and hold a valid vaccination certificate from:

- the member states of the European Union, including the Republic of Cyprus,

- the countries of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway), and Switzerland,

- Israel, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Belarus, Serbia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United States of America, Armenia, Georgia, Canada and Kuwait,

and will arrive in the Republic of Cyprus from abroad, will be exempted, for entry purposes, from the obligation to undergo laboratory tests and the obligation for self-isolation/quarantine, regardless of the country of departure, always in accordance with the instructions and guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

Acceptable vaccination certificates are those whose holders have completed their vaccination with one of the approved vaccines of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), or with the Sputnik V vaccine or with the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine (BBIBP COVID-19) and the specified by the Ministry of Health, number of days has elapsed between the administration of the last dose (depending on the vaccine administered to them) and the travel date.

Finally, it is noted that all persons, regardless of nationality, who have been vaccinated and hold a valid Certificate from the Republic of Cyprus, and will return to the Republic of Cyprus from a trip abroad, will be exempted for entry purposes, from the obligation to undergo laboratory tests and the obligation for self-isolation/quarantine, regardless of the country of departure, always in accordance with the instructions and guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
