Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country), January – September 2021

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January – September 2021. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the 6 digits commodity code level and by partner country.

The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:

(a)  Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January – September 2021 amounted to €6.109,4 mn as compared to €5.408,3 mn in January – September 2020, recording an increase of 13,0%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January – September 2021 were €2.137,3 mn compared to €2.135,7 mn in the same period of 2020, registering an increase of 0,1%. The trade deficit was €3.972,1 mn in January – September 2021 compared to €3.272,6 mn in the corresponding period of 2020.

(b)  The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €4.030,2 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €439,1 mn in January – September 2021. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €1.640,1 mn.

(c)  Exports to the European Union accounted for €633,4 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €335,2 mn in January - September 2021. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €1.168,7 mn.
