Presidential Elections 2023 – Statement by the Chief Returning Officer, Dr Costas Constantinou, regarding the voter turnout until 12 noon, when the ballot boxes were temporarily closed
Ballot boxes in all 1,129 polling stations, which operate in the Republic of Cyprus, Greece and Bulgaria, were temporarily closed at 12:00 noon. Voting will recommence at 1:00 p.m..
The voting process is running smoothly, without any problems.
According to available data, until 12:00 noon, 33,7% of registered voters voted, while, at the corresponding time in the 2018 Presidential Elections, 30.2% of registered voters had voted. This percentage has increased by 3.5%.
