Τhe Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Constantinos Kombos, will have a tete-a-tete meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan Mr Ayman Safadi, in the framework of Mr Safafi’s working visit to Cyprus tomorrow, Wednesday 26 April.

Extended consultations with the participation of official delegations from the two countries will follow, at the conclusion of which, the two Ministers will make short statements to the press.

Discussions will focus on the already excellent bilateral relations between Cyprus and Jordan, and the prospect of developing and deepening them further in a variety of areas.  Ministers will also exchange views regarding the cooperation in the context of the Cyprus-Greece-Jordan Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism, as well as on regional developments.  Dr Kombos will have the opportunity to brief his Jordanian counterpart on the current efforts to restart the negotiations for the reunification of Cyprus, as well as other issues relating to the Cyprus question. 

During his visit, Mr Safadi will be received by the President of the Republic Mr Nikos Christodoulides.
