Mr Michael Damianos was born and raised in Archangelos, Nicosia, with family origins from Polystypos and Larnaca.

He is a dually qualified lawyer in Cyprus, England and Wales. He graduated from the University of Southampton (LLB) with first - class honours and received a best academic performance award from the same University. He further holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Public International Law from the University of Cambridge, where he received a best academic performance award from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. He is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He worked for the international law firms Simmons & Simmons and Hogan Lovells in London, where he specialised in corporate, commercial and energy related matters. 

On his return to Cyprus, he worked for a law firm in Nicosia and in 2010 he founded a law firm that bears his name. 

He served as a Municipal Councillor at the Strovolos Municipality (2011-2016). 

He is the Vice President of the Democratic Party (DIKO) since 2018. 

He is married and has two children.
