The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, leaves today for Strasbourg, where on 12 December, he will address the European Parliament Plenary session on the “Future of Europe”.

President Anastasiades will hold a meeting with the President of the European Parliament Mr Antonio Tajani in the morning of 12 December, at the European Parliament, and later on, in the presence of the President of the European Commission Mr Jean Claude Juncker, he will address the Plenary. The President will then receive questions by the members of the Parliament.

Later on, President Tajani, in the presence of the President of the Republic, will award to the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov the Sakharov Prize.

Following the award ceremony, President Tajani will host a luncheon in honor of President Anastasiades.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Strasbourg by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, the Government Spokesman, Mr Prodromos Prodromou and the Deputy Minister to the President, Mr Vasilis Palmas.

The President of the Republic will then leave Strasbourg for Brussels where he will participate in the EU Summit.
