Foreign Trade Statistics – December 2017

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the new monthly electronic publication “Intra-Extra EU trade statistics (Summarised Data)” for December 2017.
 
The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:
 
(a) Total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU member states) in January-December 2017 amounted to €8.092,8 mn as compared to €7.117,5 mn in January-December 2016. Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States) in January-December 2017 were €2.961,0  mn compared to €2.714,2 mn in January-December 2016. The trade deficit was €5.131,8 mn in January-December 2017 compared to €4.403,3  mn in the corresponding period of 2016.
 
(b) During December 2017 total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU member states) valued at €705,1 mn as compared to €672,8 mn in December 2016. 
 
(c) Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU member states), including stores and provisions, in December 2017 amounted to €231,1 mn as compared to €198,8 mn in December 2016. Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions in December 2017 were €96,8 mn as compared to €95,1 mn in December 2016 whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, in December 2017 were €134,3 mn as compared to €103,7 mn in December 2016. Total domestic exports of industrial products in December 2017 were €87,3 mn compared to €85,6 mn in December 2016. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in December 2017 were €8,1 mn compared to €7,6 mn in December 2016.
