Employment in the Broad Public Sector: 4th Quarter 2018
Total Employment 68.351The employment in the Broad Public Sector for the 4th quarter of 2018 was 68.351 persons. The employment in General Government was 62.414 and in the Publicly Owned Enterprises and Companies was 5.937. In the General Government which consists of the Government, Non-Profit Organisations and Local Authorities the number of employees was 51.915, 6.307 and 4.192 persons respectively. Annual Change 3,9%The number of job vacancies for the 4th quarter of 2018 was 3.390. The number of job vacancies increased by 126 (3,9%) compared to the same quarter of the previous year where the number was 3.264. Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2018 the number of job vacancies increased by 4.277 (-55,8%). Government Labour Force: 52.009In February 2019 the Government labour force increased by 460 persons (0,9%) in comparison to the corresponding month of 2018 and reached 52.009 persons. Permanent staff decreased by 566 persons (-1,6%). Casual staff increased by 6,5% and reached 16.891 persons compared to 15.865 persons in February 2018.
