2024 Elections – The use of mobile phones is prohibited inside the polling stations
The Chief Returning Officer announces that the use of mobile phones is prohibited inside the polling stations by any person other than the presiding officer and only for the purpose of communicating with the respective Elections Officers.The presiding officer has the authority to remove from the polling station any person using his/her mobile phone, as well as order the arrest of persons who attempt to use their mobile phones. The Statistical Service announces that the number of building permits authorised by the municipal authorities and the district administration offices during March 2024 stood at 583. The total value of these permits reached €260,1 million and the total area 225,7 thousand square metres.
