The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, met today with the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Mr Kitack Lim, at the Organization headquarters, in London.

After the meeting Mr Lim told reporters that Cyprus’ contribution and devotion to the IMO Meeting is well known, adding that he looks forward to an even greater cooperation between Cyprus and the Organization and that the President’s visit provides a good opportunity to that end.

On his part, the President said that his meeting with Mr Lim was fruitful and productive and that they exchanged views on the future of maritime industry and the role that Cyprus can play with regards to that. He also said that they discussed certain problems that the region faces and expressed his belief that these problems will be overcome in the near future.
