The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, leaves today, Monday, 30 April 2018 for Alexandria, Egypt, where on the same day he will launch the “Nostos The Return” initiative together with the President of Egypt, Mr Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and the President of Greece, Mr Prokopis Pavlopoulos.

The “Nostos The Return” initiative is part of the diaspora program signed among Egypt, Cyprus and Greece, and it underlines the very close relations among the three countries.

On May 1^st, President Anastasiades will meet with the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa Theodoros II, who will award the President with the Great Cross of the Apostle Mark.

President Anastasiades will also hold a bilateral meeting with President Sisi, on the sidelines of the “Nostos” initiative and will later on attend a luncheon hosted by the President of Egypt.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied by the Government Spokesman, Mr Prodromos Prodromou, the Undersecretary to the President, Mr Vasilis Palmas, the Presidential Commissioner, Mr Photis Photiou, and other officials.

President Anastasiades will return to Cyprus on Tuesday evening.
