The Commissioner for Volunteerism and Non-Governmental Organizations, Mr. Yiannis Yiannakis, had today, October 14, 2020, at 12:00 pm, an Internet discussion with Mr. David Evangelista, Regional President of the Special Olympics Europe and Eurasia, Mr. Christo Velkov, Vice President of European and Eurasian Development Strategy and with Ms. Eleni Rossidou, National Coordinator and Special Olympics Advisor for Education. The topic of discussion was "The Utilization of Volunteering in the Special Olympic Games".

The discussion focused on upgrading the role of volunteering in relation to the Special Olympics and creating a framework for cooperation for the development of an integrated policy at European level in relation to Volunteering, utilizing Good Practices and Programs that strengthen the sector.

The discussion will continue with the aim of encouraging our cooperation, creating a favorable environment that will enhance Volunteering participation and encourage the Citizens to support the Special Olympics.

Volunteering acquires special value when utilized in the Special Olympics.
