Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (By Commodity and Country), January – July 2020
1.The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January - July 2020. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the 6 digits commodity code level and by partner country.
(a) The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:
Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January – July 2020 amounted to €4.284,9 mn as compared to €4.827,2 mn in January – July 2019, recording a decrease of 11,2%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January – July 2020 were €1.755,9 mn compared to €1.959,6 mn in the same period of 2019, registering a decrease of 10,4%. The trade deficit was€2.529,0 mn in January – July 2020 compared to €2.867,6 mn in the corresponding period of 2019.
(b)The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €2.545,2 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €478,1 mn in January - July 2020. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €1.261,6 mn.
(c) Exports to the European Union accounted for €537,0 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €180,4 mn in January - July 2020. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €1.038,5 mn.
