The Vaccination Portal remains available until March 31st for patients with Diabetes Mellitus and Severe Obesity

Within the framework of the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan against COVID-19, the focus in April will be on the vaccination coverage of individuals who fall within the groups with an increased risk for serious illness.

Specifically, the appointment scheduling procedure is in progress, through the Vaccination Portal, for people with type I Diabetes Mellitus and type II Diabetes Mellitus who take insulin, with Diabetes Mellitus and macrovascular and/or microvascular complications, and with Severe Obesity.

About 7,200 appointments have been arranged so far, out of a total of 19,246 available appointments. Due to the low pace of appointment scheduling and the need to proceed with the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan, the Vaccination Portal for people with Diabetes Mellitus and Severe Obesity will close earlier than the date initially announced, namely on March 31st, at 7 p.m.

In case a person has a problem registering a request for an appointment in the Software, he/she should contact his/her Personal Physician or treating physician, in order to ensure proper registration in the General Health System(GESY) Software.

It is clarified that, after March 31st, the Vaccination Portal will close for individuals who fall into the above vulnerable groups, and patients who have not scheduled an appointment, will be able to do so when the Portal is available for their specific age group. For example, if an individual with type I Diabetes Mellitus is 30 years old and does not schedule a vaccination appointment by March 31st, he/she will be able to do so when age group of 30 years of age will have priority for vaccination.

Given the fact that vaccination can protect us from serious illness and prevent hospitalization and death, people who fall within vulnerable groups with priority for vaccination are encouraged to schedule their appointment as soon as possible.
