Address by the Minister of Health, Mr Michael Damianos, at the 31st Μeeting of the European Network of Medical Competent Authorities (ENMCA) Hosted by the Cyprus Medical Council
It is a great pleasure for me to address you all today on the 31st Μeeting of the European Network of Medical Competent Authorities hosted by the Cyprus Medical Council. Firstly, I would like to extent a warm welcome to all those visiting from all over Europe.
This meeting has undoubtedly great scientific and professional value. It is of great importance as it strengthens ties between competent authorities across Europe on shared values and challenges.
All European countries are confronted with the issue of transfer of doctors from third countries. They are also facing the issue of recognition of professional qualifications of UK doctors following Brexit. It is therefore of vital importance for in-depth discussions with exchange and sharing of information between delegates to shape common policies.
I would like to assure you that the Ministry of Health supports the efforts, dedication and commitment of the Cyprus Medical Council for its services to the medical community.
Lastly, I would like to congratulate the Cyprus Medical Council and the host countries for the excellent organisation of this event and I wish you a very productive meeting and an enjoyable time in our beautiful country.
Thank you.
