The Ministry of Health proceeds with the operation of "walk-in" vaccination centres as of Thursday, 15 July, in order to facilitate the access of citizens to vaccination. "Walk-in" centres are a practice that is already implemented in other countries abroad and aims to strengthen the effort for vaccination.

In Cyprus, these centres will operate in all Districts and will be housed in the existing Vaccination Centres, in order to serve citizens who wish to be vaccinated, but have not scheduled an appointment in advance through the Vaccination Portal. For the time being, it will be possible for individuals who are GHS beneficiaries to get vaccinated in the "walk-in" centres, with possible extension of coverage, in the future, to non-beneficiaries or non-contractors with GHS. The vaccinations will relate to new vaccinations, namely individuals who will be vaccinated with the 1^st dose of the vaccine rather than vaccination with the 2^nd dose, and priority will be given according to the turnout of citizens ("first-come, first-served" practice).

Specifically, the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine will be currently administered in the “walk-in” centres. The opening hours will be from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the following locations:

• Lefkosia District: Latsia Health Centre
• Lemesos District: Linopetra Health Centre
• Larnaka District: Port
• Pafos District: Pafos General Hospital
• Ammochostos District: Ammochostos General Hospital

It is emphasized that appointments of individuals that have been arranged through the Vaccination Portal are not affected and will be carried out as scheduled at the Vaccination Centre, on the day and time arranged by each beneficiary.

It is stressed that beneficiaries must necessarily present proof of identification (identity card, passport, Alien Registration Card, etc.).
