The Council of Ministers approved vaccination for refugees from Ukraine who arrived in Cyprus
In view of the war raging in Ukraine, resulting in refugees arriving in Cyprus who are in need for substantial humanitarian aid, the Council of Ministers decided, during its meeting on March 3rd, that:
(a) Exception will be granted to citizens from Ukraine, who are not permanent residents in Cyprus, in order to be able to receive a vaccine against COVID-19, as well as any other vaccine deemed necessary for Public Health purposes.
(b) Certificates of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 (EUDCC) will be issued for citizens (Cypriots, permanent and non-permanent residents in the Republic of Cyprus) who have been vaccinated/recovered in Ukraine, regardless the equivalence of the Ukrainian certificate.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health, through the European Emergency Response Coordination Centre, will send medicines and medical supplies worth half a million euros as humanitarian aid to the war-torn Ukraine.
