A broad meeting to review the policies and actions included in the National Strategy for the Development of Mountain Communities will be held on Monday 14 March under the President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, during which the progress of the programmes and projects implemented will be assessed. Participating in the meeting will be the Ministers of Interior, Justice, Transport, and Health. The Deputy MinisterDeputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the Deputy Minister to the President, the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities and government officials will also attend the meeting.

The policies and actions implemented by the Government are part of a broader plan to reverse the wave of urbanization and to rejuvenate the mountainous areas. The aim of the government’s effort is to make mountain communities attractive places of living for young families, investors and businessmen.

On Wednesday, 16 March, a meeting of the Council of Ministers is scheduled.

On Friday 18 March, President Anastasiades will address the Aphrodite Awards ceremony of the Municipality of Pafos and on Saturday, 19 March, he will declare officially open the events of the 14th International OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO.

On Sunday, 20 March, he will address the Supreme Council of DISY.
