The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, arrived last night in Montenegro, where he is paying a two-day official visit.

The President of the Republic, accompanied by his wife Andri Anastadiades, arrived late last night in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, and was welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the country, Mr Dritan Abazovic.

This morning, the President of the Republic will be officially welcomed at the Presidential Residence by the President of Montenegro, Mr Milo Đukanović, with whom he will have a tête-à-tête meeting. Afterwards, they will attend extended discussions, heading the two countries’ delegations.

Amongst other issues to be discussed during the discussions, are bilateral relations, the developments in the Cyprus problem and the ongoing Turkish provocations towards the Republic of Cyprus, the situation in Ukraine and EU-Montenegro relations.

Tonight, the President of Montenegro and the First Lady of Montenegro will host an official dinner in honour of the President of the Republic and his wife.

Tomorrow morning, the President of the Republic will have a meeting with the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Mr Zdravko Krivokapić.

Later on, he will visit the Old Town of Kotor, while he will also be given a guided tour of the Maritime Museum and the marina of the city of Tivat. 

The President of the Republic is accompanied to Montenegro by the Government Spokesman, Mr Marios Pelekanos, the Deputy Minister to President, Mr Kyriacos Koushos, and the Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, Mr Vassilis Demetriades, the Ambassador of the Republic in Montenegro, based in Belgrade, Mr Demetrios Theofylactou and officials.
