Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by Commodity and Country), January - April 2022
The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January - April 2022. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the six digits commodity code level and by partner country.
The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:
(a) Total imports of goods (from EU member states and from third countries) in January - April 2022 amounted to €3.320,9 mn as compared to €2.626,1 mn in January - April 2021, recording an increase of 26,5%. Total exports of goods (to EU member states and to third countries) in January - April 2022 were €1.090,3 mn compared to €801,1 mn in the same period of 2021, registering an increase of 36,1%. The trade deficit was €2.230,6 mn in January - April 2022 compared to €1.825,0 mn in the corresponding period of 2021.
(b) The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €2.109,1 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €254,9 mn in January - April 2022. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €956,9 mn.
(c) Exports to the European Union accounted for €319,8 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €101,4 mn in January - April 2022. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €669,1 mn.
