The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, arrived at 4 am on 20 September (Cyprus time) in New York, accompanied by his wife, Ms Andri Anastasiades. The President will participate in the deliberations of the 77th UN General Assembly, during which he will deliver an address. He will also have contacts with Heads of State and Government.

At 4 p.m. (Cyprus time), President Anastasiades will visit the United Nations Headquarters to attend the opening of the deliberations of the Assembly, which will be addressed by the UN Secretary-General, Mr Antonio Guterres. Mr Guterres will also host a reception in honor of the Heads of State who are participating in the General Assembly.

An hour later, the President of the Republic will meet with the Serbian President, Mr Aleksandar Vucic, at the United Nations premises. He will then receive the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

The President of the Republic is accompanied by the Government Spokesman, Mr Marios Pelekanos, the Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, Mr Pantelis Pantelides, and other officials.
