Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country), January - September 2022

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January - September 2022. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the 6 digits commodity code level and by partner country.

The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:

(a) Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January - September 2022 amounted to €8.485,2 mn as compared to €6.267,6 mn in January - September 2021, recording an increase of 35,4%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January - September 2022 were €2.815,7 mn compared to €2.190,0 mn in the same period of 2021, registering an increase of 28,6%. The trade deficit was €5.669,5 mn in January - September 2022 compared to €4.077,6 mn in the corresponding period of 2021.

(b) The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €5.109,0 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €795,1 mn in January - September 2022. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €2.581,1 mn.

(c) Exports to the European Union accounted for €844,4 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €291,5 mn in January - September 2022. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €1.679,8 mn.
