The High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (resident in New Delhi), Mr Evagoras Vryonides, presented his credentials to the President of the country, Mr Mohammed Shahabuddin, in an official ceremony at Bangabhaban (Presidential Office) in Dhaka.

During a brief tête-à-tête meeting, the High Commissioner conveyed to President Shahabuddin the warm greetings of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, the Government and people of Cyprus, and expressed Cyprus’ gratitude for the consistent support of Bangladesh on the Cyprus issue. In addition, he conveyed the commitment of the Government to further strengthen relations with Bangladesh in the fields of trade, energy, investment, tourism, and education.

On his part, President Shahabuddin conveyed his warm greetings to President Christodoulides and expressed his expectations on the upgrading of bilateral relations and the strengthening of the already very good ties connecting the two countries.
