Presidential Elections 2023: Nomination process
Information for media representatives
The nomination process for the Presidential Elections 2023 will take place on Thursday, January 5, between 8.00 am and 12 noon, at the Filoxenia Conference Centre. Media representatives wishing to cover the process are informed of the following:
Arrival and parking
Media representatives should arrive at the Filoxenia Conference Centre by 7.15 am. All vehicles must park in the area outside the Filoxenia Conference Centre.
Coverage of the arrival of candidates
The arrival of candidates at the entrance of the covered corridor of the Filoxenia Conference Centre will be open to all media representatives, who will be standing in a designated area on both sides of the corridor. At these points, there will also be TV screens so that media representatives can follow the main process in the “Zenon Kitievs” hall.
No statements will be allowed by candidates upon their arrival.
Venues for the submission of nominations
The main process will take place in the “Zenon Kitievs” hall. There will be a designated area for media representatives, with Wi-Fi connection and work stations, while a spot has been reserved for photographers, in front of the stage.
The process provides for candidates and their families to enter the room and for documents to be checked by the Secretariat. Candidates will then go up to the stage to submit their candidacy and make a short statement. Given the tight timeframe, at this point candidates will take no questions.
Candidates will leave the hall and, if they so wish, they will have the opportunity to make additional statements in the adjacent “Pentadaktylos” hall. The same applies for party leaders.
Television coverage arrangements of the main process
CyBC will transmit live the main process in the “Zenon Kitievs” hall and will serve as a pool, providing signal to the rest of the TV channels. As a result, CyBC will be the only channel with cameras in the hall. Journalists from other channels will be able to watch the process but without a camera.

In all areas, officers of the Press and Information Office (PIO) will guide and assist media representatives, who are requested to follow their instructions so that the process can be completed smoothly.
