Foreign trade statistics, May 2018
The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the new monthly electronic publication “Intra-extra EU trade statistics (Summarised Data)” for May 2018.
The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:
(a) Total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) in January-May 2018 amounted to €3.781,9 mn as compared to €3.244,2 mn in January-May 2017. Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States) in January-May 2018 were €2.070,3 mn compared to €1.081,9 mn in January-May 2017. The trade deficit was €1.711,6 mn in January-May 2018 compared to €2.162,3 mn in the corresponding period of 2017.
(b) During May 2018 total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) valued at €829,1 mn as compared to €758,5 mn in May 2017.
(c) Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States), including stores and provisions, in May 2018 amounted to €457,7 mn as compared to €270,4 mn in May 2017. Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions in May 2018 were €152,3 mn as compared to €138,8 mn in May 2017 whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, in May 2018 were €305,4 mn as compared to €131,6 mn in May 2017. Total domestic exports of industrial products in May 2018 were €138,3 mn compared to €121,5 mn in May 2017. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in May 2018 were €11,7 mn compared to €14,7 mn in May 2017.
