On 17 August 2018, Ambassador Ms Elena Rafti presented her credentials, as the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), to the Executive Secretary of the Organization Dr Lassina Zerbo.

Ambassador Rafti and the Executive Secretary agreed to continue and enhance the already good cooperation between the Republic of Cyprus and the Organization.  In addition, Ambassador Rafti  briefed Mr Zerbo on the latest developments with regard to the Cyprus issue.

Mr Zerbo mentioned his appreciation of the meetings that he had in Cyprus on 18 May 2018 with the President of the Republic of Cyprus Μr Nikos Anastasiades, the President of the House of Representatives Μr Demetris Syllouris as well as with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mr Minas Hadjimichael, praising Cyprus’ willingness for active participation in the CTBTO.  Τhe Permanent Representative assured the Executive Secretary of the support of the Republic of Cyprus to efforts to promote the entry into force of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT).
