The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, will travel to Austria tomorrow, 30^th of August 2018, to participate in the Informal Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the European Union (Gymnich), to be held in Vienna from 30 to 31 August 2018.

During the meeting’s proceedings, the Foreign Ministers of the European Union will have the opportunity to exchange views on a range of issues related to the EU's external relations. More specifically, on the first day of work, the latest developments in the greater Middle East and the Transatlantic Relations will be discussed.

On August 31, 2018, the Ministers will discuss on Western Balkans, while in the last session, which will take place with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of the candidate countries for EU accession, issues of effective multilateralism will be examined.

On the sidelines of Gymnich, Mr Christodoulides will have a separate meeting with his British counterpart, Mr Jeremy Hunt, during which the Cyprus issue and Brexit are expected to be discussed, as well as bilateral relations between the Republic of Cyprus and the United Kingdom.

Mr Christodoulides returns to Cyprus on August 31.
