Foreign Minister, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, received on the morning of September 14, 2018, the new Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Lefkosia, Mr Abdulmonem  Almahmoud. The courtesy call took place on the occasion of the official opening of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cyprus on September12th.

During the meeting, the importance the two countries pay for further enhancement of their bilateral relations and strengthening their cooperation at a regional level, with a view to promoting peace and stability in the wider region from the Eastern Mediterranean to the Gulf, was confirmed. The establishment and operation of the Embassy of Republic of Cyprus in Riyadh (as of 2015) and now that of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Lefkosia is an important milestone in the diplomatic relations of the two countries and is expected to significantly contribute to this end.

Minister Christodoulides wished Mr Almahmoud every success in his new duties and reassured him that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide all possible assistance and support to the new Embassy.
