On the occasion of this year’s European Day of Languages and the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, the European Commission Representation in Cyprus in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) and the support of the Cyprus Linguistics Society (CyLING) is organising an online language competition titled: "EU Lingo Quiz".

The competition will run from today 26 September until 8 October 2018 and is open to European citizens of 15 years old and above residing in Cyprus.

The competition comprises 40 multiple-choice questions on languages and culture in Europe.

The 3 grand prize winners will be selected based on the 3 highest scores achieved – in the case of a tie the decisive factor will be the time needed to complete the quiz. The 3 grand prizes are: Smart TV (1^st prize), laptop (2^nd prize), mobile Smartphone (3^rd prize). 50 runners-up will receive a gift bag, which they can pick up from the EU House in Lefkosia.
