Following a one-hour recess, voting resumed at exactly 1 p.m. and it continues smoothly and in order. It is estimated that until 3 p.m. approximately 29% of the total of registered electors throughout Cyprus voted.
The percentages of the electors who have voted so far and the corresponding figures at previous elections, per constituency, are:

It is clarified that the participation, excluding the special polling stations for Turkish Cypriots (T/C), reached 32%, compared to 31% at the same time during the 2014 European Parliament Elections.
As regards the participation of T/C in these European Parliament Elections, I note the following:
Until now 4204 T/C citizens of the Republic have exercised their voting right, out of a total of 80.862 who are registered in the electoral roll.
I would like to underline, once again, the significance of these elections for the Republic of Cyprus and also for the whole of the European Union.
As Chief Returning Officer I once again call upon the people to exercise their right to vote.
I hope and wish that our compatriots will proceed en masse to exercise their voting right. I remind that polls will normally close at 6 in the afternoon.
