The deliberations of 20th World Conference of Overseas Cypriots continue
The second day of the deliberations of 20th World Conference of Overseas Cypriots by the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots (POMAK), the International Coordinating Committee “Justice for Cyprus” (PSEKA) and the Youth of the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots (NEPOMAK) hosted in Cyprus, at Filoxenia Conference Center, in Lefkosia, began with the presentation of PSEKA report of activities, by the President of the organization, Mr Philip Christofer.
Afterwards, the delegates were briefed, in closed sessions, by the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, on the issue of hydrocarbons and the Cyprus energy policy and by the Presidential Commissioner, Mr Photis Photiou, together with the Greek Cypriot member of the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP), Mr Leonidas Pantelides, on issues relating to the missing persons.
At noon, the delegates attended a roundtable discussion with Ambassadors of diplomatic missions in Cyprus. The USA Ambassador, Ms Judith G. Garber, the Greek Ambassador, Mr Ilias Fotopoulos, the Ambassador of France, Mr René Troccaz, the Ambassador of Israel, Mr Shmuel Revel and the High Commissioner of the UK, Mr Stephen Lillie, participated in the discussion.
In the afternoon, the delegates will be briefed by the Chief of the National Guard, Mr Ilias Leontaris, on defence diplomacy issues, at a closed session. Later, a discussion of the issue of Islamisation and alteration of the population characteristics, and the religious and cultural disaster in the occupied areas of the Republic will follow.
The deliberations end, today, with an adoption of resolutions and tomorrow, Friday 30th August, at 10.40 am, a Press conference will be given by the Presidents of POMAK, PSEKA and NEPOMAK at the Presence of the Presidential Commissioner.
