The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, will participate tomorrow, 8 October 2019, in the Cyprus – Greece – Egypt Summit Meeting, which will take place in Cairo with the participation of the President of Egypt, Mr Abdul Fatah al Sisi and the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The Cyprus delegation will include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Mr Giorgos Lakkotrypis, the Government Spokesman, Mr Prodromos Prodromou and other officials.

On the sidelines of the proceedings of the Summit, the President of the Republic will have bilateral meetings with the President of Egypt and the Prime Minister of Greece.

The proceedings of the Tripartite Summit will follow and then the three leaders will make remarks to the media.

In the framework of the Summit meeting, the leaders will also attend a working lunch.

Among the issues to be addressed at the Summit are energy, regional developments, security in the area of the Eastern Mediterranean, the battle against terrorism, developments on the Cyprus problem and the relations between Egypt and the European Union.

At the conclusion of the summit meeting, a joint declaration is expected to be issued.
