On November 20 2019, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Tajikistan (with residence in Moscow), Mr Andreas Zenonos, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, during an official ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Dushanbe.

The Ambassador conveyed to the President of Tajikistan the greetings of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, as well as our wish to further strengthen and develop the relations between Cyprus and Tajikistan.

Speaking after the ceremony, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan praised the very friendly relations between the two countries. At the same time, he stressed that there are many opportunities for their further strengthening and development in various fields and that he looks forward to Cyprus' assistance in reinforcing his country's relations with the European Union.

The Ambassador of Cyprus also had a brief conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Mr. Sirodjidin Aslov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Muzaffar Huseynzoda, as well as with other senior officials of the Ministry, whom he briefed regarding the latest developments on the Cyprus issue.
