Guidelines by the Minister of Transport for persons employed in means of Public Transport and for passengers

The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, based on Regulation 13 (b) of the Quarantine Law (Determination of Measures to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus) Decree (No. 31) of 2021 (R.A.A. 314/2021) issues the following guidelines:

1. For the purposes of implementing the Regulation 13 of the Quarantine Law (Determination of Measures to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus) Decree (No. 31) of 2021, persons employed in means of Public Transport (Regular Passenger Buses with a fare per passenger, Buses with E License, Buses used for shuttle services to and from airports (shuttle) and Taxis), as well as persons aged 12 and over aboard such vehicles must possess and be able to present to authorized–based on Regulation 48 (c)–officials:    

1.1. Certificate of vaccination for COVID-19 with at least one dose and provided that three weeks have elapsed since the date of vaccination, or

1.2. Proof of discharge in cases of persons who have been infected with COVID-19 and provided that no more than six months have elapsed since the date of their initial positive testing result, or

1.3. Negative result of a laboratory test or a rapid antigen test for COVID-19, with the testing having taken place within 72 hours, or

1.4. Cyprus Flight Pass, electronically or a handwritten document, for persons who are not permanent residents of the Republic and enter the Republic legally, through the airports of Larnaka and Pafos, or

1.5. For persons who are not permanent residents of the Republic and enter the Republic legally through the legal points of entry into the Republic by sea,

1.5.1. The proof provided by the Administrator of the Port in which they dock, or

1.5.2. Disembarkation card which is provided in the case of cruise ship passengers, or

1.6. EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC).

2. In addition, companies operating in means of Public Transport must inform passengers and indicate in a prominent place on their premises, at stations and inside the vehicle (buses and taxis), the requirements for possession and presentation of the relevant documents mentioned in paragraph 1 of this announcement.

3. The use of a protective face mask by employees and passengers in means of public transport is mandatory.

4. The above measures are in effect as of July 20, 2021 at 05.00 am.
