The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Lithuania, Mr. Petros T. Nacouzis, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Mr. Gitanas Nausėda, during an official ceremony, which took place at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius on 3 November 2022.

During the private meeting that followed, Ambassador Nacouzis conveyed to President Nausėda the warm greetings of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, and expressed the gratitude of the Republic of Cyprus for the principled stance of the Government of Lithuania on finding a just and viable solution to the Cyprus problem based on the agreed UN parameters. The Ambassador briefed the Lithuanian President on the lack of progress in relation to the Cyprus issue and the illegal activities of Turkey against Cyprus.

President Nausėda wished the Ambassador every success in his mission, expressing the wish that the bilateral relations of Lithuania and Cyprus will be further strengthened to the mutual benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples.
