Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country): January – August 2022
The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January – August 2022. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the 6 digits commodity code level and by partner country.
The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:
(a) Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January – August 2022 amounted to €7.651,0 mn as compared to €5.623,9 mn in January – August 2021, recording an increase of 36,0%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January – August 2022 were €2.521,7 mn compared to €1.985,2 mn in the same period of 2021, registering an increase of 27,0%. The trade deficit was €5.129,3 mn in January – August 2022 compared to €3.638,7 mn in the corresponding period of 2021.
(b) The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €4.564,0 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €715,1 mn in January – August 2022. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €2.371,9 mn.
(c) Exports to the European Union accounted for €726,5 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €273,0 mn in January – August 2022. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €1.522,2 mn.
