The Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate in the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels and in the "Standing with the Ukrainian people" Conference in Paris
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ioannis Kasoulides, is leaving on Sunday, December 11 for Brussels where he will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council, which will take place on Monday.
The Foreign Affairs Council will be preceded by a working breakfast of Foreign Ministers regarding the future of the Eastern Partnership. On the sidelines of the Foreign Affairs Council, the annual Eastern Partnership Ministerial Meeting will be held, with the participation of Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Foreign Ministers' discussions will focus, inter alia, on the developments in Ukraine following the Russian invasion and the assessment of the EU's coordinated response. The EU Foreign Ministers will also be concerned with the current situation and human rights in Iran.
With regard to current affairs, the EU's High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, will speak, inter alia, on the Southern Neighborhood, in view of the strategic discussion that will take place at the upcoming European Council, and the EU's support to Moldova.
On the sidelines of his stay in Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will have brief bilateral contacts with other Foreign Ministers.
On Monday night, Mr Kasoulides will travel to Paris to participate in the High-level Conference "Standing with the Ukrainian people" that will be held on Tuesday, December 13. The Conference is co-organized by the President of France, Mr Emmanuel Macron, and the President of Ukraine, Mr. Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs will return to Cyprus on the evening of Wednesday, December 14.
