The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, departs tomorrow for Brussels to participate in the deliberations of the EU- ASEAN Summit and the European Council Summit.

Specifically, on Wednesday, December 14, the President of the Republic will participate in the deliberations of the EU- ASEAN Summit, which mainly aims at deepening political dialogue and further enhancing cooperation between the EU and ASEAN countries.

On Thursday, December 15, the European Council Summit will take place with the participation of the 27 Heads of Member States of the EU and the Presidents of the European Institutions.

Topics on the agenda of the forthcoming Summit include, inter alia, the dramatic developments in the Ukraine, issues related to energy and economy, as well as issues related to EU external relations, defence and security as well as the relations between the EU and Southern Neighbourhood partners.

The President of the Republic, who returns to Cyprus on Friday, December 16, will be accompanied to Brussels by the Government Spokesman, Mr Marios Pelekanos, the Deputy Government Spokeswoman, Ms Niovi Parisinou and other officials.
