Elections 2024 – Statement by the Chief Returning Officer, Dr Elikkos A. Elia, on voter turnout until 12 noon, when the ballot boxes were temporarily closed

Ballot boxes in all 1,857 polling stations, which operate in the Republic of Cyprus and in Greece, were temporarily closed at 12 noon. Voting will recommence at 1 p.m.

Voter turnout continued smoothly, without any problems.

According to the available data, until 12 noon, 25.4% of registered voters voted, while at the corresponding time in the 2019 European Parliament Elections, 19% of registered voters had voted and in the 2016 Local Government Elections, 23.8% of registered voters had voted.
