The Chief Returning Officer, Dr Elikkos A. Elia, visited the dedicated polling station, where the enclaved people of the Kormakitis occupied community vote at the 3rd Primary School of Agios Dometios.

During his visit, Mr Elia answered journalists' questions.

The Chief Returning Officer stated, inter alia, that 252 enclaved people are voting in dedicated polling stations in Agios Dometios and Deryneia, of which 66 are in Keryneia District and specifically Kormakitis and 186 enclaved people are in Ammochostos District. He added that 44 of the 66 enclaved people in Keryneia District have already voted in Agios Dometios, while in Deryneia until 10am, 10 electors voted for members of the European Parliament and 16 for Local Government. "Voting has been running smoothly and we are optimistic that the majority of the enclaved people will vote for the occupied communities," Mr Elia noted.
