Elections 2024 – Statement by the Chief Returning Officer, Mr Elikkos A. Elia, on the final result of the Elections of Members of the European Parliament

The final voting results for the election of Members of the European Parliament are as follows:

REGISTERED VOTERS		683,432
VOTED	402,276	58.86%
ABSTENTION	281,156	41.14%
INVALID VOTES	8,450	2.1%
BLANK VOTES	25,371	6.31%
VALID VOTES	368,455	91.59%

DEMOCRATIC RALLY (DISY)	91,316	24.78%
AKEL (PROGRESSIVE PARTY OF WORKING PEOPLE) LEFT – SOCIAL ALLIANCE	79,163	21.49%
PANAYIOTOU FIDIAS	71,330	19.36%
NATIONAL POPULAR FRONT (ELAM)	41,215	11.19%
DEMOCRATIC PARTY (DIKO)	35,815	9.72%
EDEK SOCIALIST PARTY	18,681	5.07%
VOLT CYPRUS	10,777	2.92%
DEMOCRATIC ALIGNMENT – COOPERATION OF DEMOCRATIC FORCES	7,988	2.17%
CYPRUS GREENS – CITIZENS’ COOPERATION	4,742	1.29%
ACTIVE CITIZENS – MOVEMENT OF UNITED CYPRIOT HUNTERS	4,603	1.25%

According to above results, the six seats allocated to the Republic of Cyprus are distributed as follows:

DEMOCRATIC RALLY – 2 seats,
AKEL (PROGRESSIVE PARTY OF WORKING PEOPLE) LEFT – SOCIAL ALLIANCE – 1 seat,
PANAYIOTOU FIDIAS – 1 seat,
NATIONAL POPULAR FRONT (ELAM) – 1 seat, and
DEMOCRATIC PARTY (DIKO) – 1 seat.

Based on the preference crosses received by the candidates of each party list, the seats are allocated to the following:

The proclamation of the aforementioned as elected Members of the European Parliament will take place tomorrow, 11 June 2023, at 8:30 a.m. at Filoxenia Conference Centre.
