The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Principality of Liechtenstein presents his credentials
The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Principality of Liechtenstein, with residence in Vienna, Mr Andreas Ignatiou, presented, during an official ceremony held at Vaduz Castle on 25 October 2024, his credentials to His Serene Highness, Hereditary Prince Alois.
During a private meeting that followed, the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries were reaffirmed. Discussion also focused on issues of mutual interest both on bilateral and international level, as well as European Union (EU)-related matters, which are particularly significant to the Principality of Liechtenstein as a member of the European Economic Area (EEA). Additionally, Ambassador Ignatiou updated Prince Alois on the current developments in the Cyprus problem and the ongoing efforts of President Christodoulides for the resumption of talks.
During his stay in the Principality, Ambassador Ignatiou met with the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Education, and Sports of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Mr Stephan Jäger. Discussion focused on the Cyprus problem, bilateral relations, as well as EU-Liechtenstein ties. In this context, Ambassador Ignatiou thanked Mr Jäger for the consistent principled stance of the Principality of Liechtenstein on the Cyprus problem.
