The Ambassador of Cyprus to the Kingdom of Denmark presents his credentials
In an official ceremony held at Amalienborg Palace on Wednesday, 6 of November 2024, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Kingdom of Denmark, Mr Panagiotis Kyriakou, presented his credentials to the King of Denmark, H.M. Frederik X.
During the private audience that followed, Ambassador Kyriakou conveyed to King Frederik the warm greetings of the President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Christodoulides. He referred to the excellent level of bilateral relations between Cyprus and Denmark, and underlined his commitment to work towards further strengthening the ties between the two countries.
He also briefed King Frederik on the latest developments in the Cyprus Question and the efforts of President Christodoulides for the resumption of negotiations. In this context, he expressed the gratitude of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus for the service of Danish soldiers in UNFICYP. Ambassador Kyriakou also referred to Cyprus’ stabilising role in the region, with special reference to the Amalthea plan for the delivering of humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
King Frederik reciprocated his warm greetings to President Christodoulides and referred to Cyprus’ positive role as a pillar of peace and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region. He also expressed his satisfaction for the excellent bilateral relations between Cyprus and Denmark, and his wish for their continuous strengthening.
